Homo skull specimens. Fossil cast reconstructions of two early human skulls. At left is KNM-ER 1470 variously classified as Homo habilis or Homo rudolfensis. It was discovered in 1972 and is around million years old. At right is KNM-ER 1813, identified as Homo habilis. It was discovered in 1973 and is around to million years old. Both were discovered in Koobi Fora in Kenya by Richard Leakey.
