Pictures show the one time centre for ‘water cure’ treatment in Malvern, Malvernbury, which became a frequent stop for Florence Nightingale between 1857 and 1860 while she recovered from the effects of war which left her suffering severe anxiety and exertion. Another famous convert to Malvern’s water cure included Charles Darwin who stated after four months of treatment, ‘I consider the sickness as absolutely cured. Sadly, this building did not receive listed status and now stands as an abandoned wreck. Sales advisor Jason Kirkham (49) accessed this historic building through a broken window to photograph what remained of this former care home in Malvern.
