An Ottoman silver-mounted yatagan,end of the 18th century. Single edged blade of characteristic form,broken and copper-soldered at the forte,with remnants of gold-inlaid marks on both sides. Iron grip frame decorated with foliage in gold inlay(partially rubbed)and silver grip scales chased with ornamental designs. The scabbard made entirely of silver retainining parts of its gilding and chased en suite with the hilt.
