Sumatran beauty at the house of 1st Indonesian president Sukarno, Bengkulu, Southwest Sumatra, Indonesia
Bengkulu is the principle city of the Sumatran Province of Bengkulu, also known as Southwest Sumatra. Indonesia's first president Sukarno lived here for a while and his house still exists. Many of these photos were taken on the grounds of the Sukarno house. Bengkulu is also the site of Fort Marlborough, established by the British in 1714. The local people put on entertainment and a beauty contest/fashion show for us. The Sukarno house is in the background.
