Lindisfarne Castle, on a whinstone hill called Beblowebuilt, the highest point of the island of Lindisfarne aka Holy Island, off the northeast coast of Northumberland, England. Small by the usual standards, it was built in 1550, around the time that Lindisfarne Priory went out of use, and stones from the priory were used as building material. With a recorded history from the 6th century AD, Holy Island was an important centre of Celtic Christianity.
