Lion Rock at Sigiriya (or Sinhagiri) in Sri Lanka - an ancient rock fortress nearly 200m (660ft) high. King Kasyapa built his palace on the top of this rock in about 485AD. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of the rock is a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. UNESCO listed World Heritage Site.
