Picture shows proud mother with her twin lambs born in the North Yorkshire dales near Pateley Bridge The amazing Herwick Ewe was herself born from a frozen embryo that had been preserved for ten years, Maggie has now produced her own set of twins, helping to maintain the rare breed hill sheep Maggie the lamb's embryo was frozen following the devastating epidemic in the summer of 2001 in order to preserve the Herdwick breed. Ten years later, and with the outbreak over, Maggie was born in April 2011.
