An early 19th century illustration of the Dragon Arum, an aroid flowering plant in the genus Dracunculus and family Araceae. The herbaceous perennial is endemic to the Balkans, extending as far as Greece, Crete, and the Aegean Islands, and also to the south-western parts of Anatolia. This artwork for Robert John Thornton's "The Temple of Flora" in 1807, was printed, for the publisher, by T. Bensley, London, England.
