These scaly lesions whennumerous are apt to occur in groups, forming irregular patcheslike the tuberculo-squamous syphilide seen in a later stage ofthe disease. The scales do not cover the whole of the papule asthey do in psoriasis, but usually leave a reddish peripheral marginof infiltrated skin. Furthermore, while they may occur upon theextensor aspecT of the extremities, and even upon the elbow asseen in the illustration, they are more likely to occur upon thethinner skin of the flexor surface, and frequently are seen upon thebend of the elbow and the popliteal space, where psoriasis neveroccurs.
