A Greek hoplite warrior with spear and shield. Well armed and armoured, during the 13th or 12th century BCE, they were the premier warrior of their day, frequently defeating enemies even when heavily outnumbered. They wore bronze breastplate fashioned in the bell or muscled style and a bronze helmet that protected their face. The bronze breast plates alone could weigh an astounding 50-60 pounds!
