There lias been comparatively little change the last week in the local market, excepting that cut and potted bulbous stock is becoming more plentiful and the department stores are making prepara- tion for the usual handling of these goods for the Easter tide. As the great church day approaches, it becomes more and more evident that A-1 lilies will be conspicuous by their limited numbers. There will, undoubtedly, be thousands of plants and blooms, but, with the ex- ception of a small percentage, they will be short, stunted plants, with small, par- tially developed blooms. Violets will be scarce and high. Koses and carnations, which furnish the staple of this market, are in good quan- tity and quality, with prices within the reach of all. Funeral work has continued active and there has been more social demand than usual. Various Notes. Scott the Florist had several large funeral calls last week. The Boston Store has opened its spring de]iartnient, with rose bushes, hedge and bordering plants and other shrubs. Mayor Gainer received floral pieces from Scott the Florist, Macnair, West- minster Greenhouses and Johns
