When one year old, he foresluKlowed his present excellent judg-ment in l)usiness matters by taking up his residence in Salisbury. After completing in a very creditable manner the course of thepublic schools here, he spent two years, 1882-:^, in William JewelCollege. After leaving college he was a telegraph operator for two years,and was connected with the post-office for four years.
