Brae school was opened in August 1888. It was a mixed school with an Infants’ Department - average attendance in 1911 was 1,500 children. There was also a Manual Instruction Centre, Wood and Metalwork Clay Modelling and Machine Drawing, which opened after enlargements in the 1890. The school was renamed - probably - Edge Hill, sometime after the 1950s and later amalgamated with Clint Rd to form Kensington Primary School. Source:
