The President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, inspecting parading troops of the Finnish Defence Forces accompanied by the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Ari Puheloinen. The parade traditionally takes place on the Flag Day of the Defence Forces, 4th June, chosen by the birthday of Marshal C. G. E. Mannerheim, the Supreme Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces in WW II. The venue of the event is the Senate Square of Helsinki this time to honor the 200 years anniversary of Helsinki as the Capital city, but the site of the main national parade usually rotates among regional major cities.
