Some calcite occurs with the thin sheets of galenaalong the bedding planes. There are very few sharp, clean cutveins of galena and calcite, most of the veins of galena being irregu-lar and rather difficult to follow. In spite of the general light color of the rock the ore occurschiefly in the brown dolomite and along bedding planes associatedwith thin laminae of black shale. The disseminated ore is chieflyin coarsely crystalline dolomite. In general the ore is of the bunchytype, the rich areas occurring irregularly through a generally leanhorizon. ST. JOSEPH LEAD CO.
