Baker, a lumbermerchant of New York City, and Elizabeth Sperry. Hisgrandfather was Wm. Clarkson, of Philadelphia, and hisgrandmother was Catherine Floyd, the daughter of , a signer of the Declaration of Independence, andcolonel of the Suffolk Count}- militia.
