Fire recently destroyed the large sawmill belonging to the Pearce Cocr pany, Limited, Marmora, Ont. The mill had been undergoing extensive i provements preparatory to the spring opening. The loss is estimated $25,000, with no insurance. The JJagoda Manufacturing Company, Limited, has been incorporat with head office at Toronto and capital stock of $15,000, to carry on business as manufacturers and dealers in pulp and paper. The provisional directors are W. A. McFarlane, S. Tutty and S. Ross. According to a report from Port Arthur, Ont., there is a possibility that another pulp mill will be erected at that place, those interested being the parties who were the successful tenderers recently for the Pic River limits, the name of the tenderer to whom the limits were sold being Samuel Marks. The report states that the mill will be located on a site belonging to Sir Wm. Mackenzie and J. J. Carrick, The Canadian Cooperage Company, Smith's Falls, Ont., has purchased a large tract of timber in Northern Ontario. The timber will be cut and brought t
