AMERICAN METAL SHINGLE The Milwaukee Corrugating Co., Mil-waukee, Wisconsin, is marketing a newAmerican Metal Shingle, illustration ofwhich is shown. A feature emphasized by the makersof the new shingle is the unusual com-bination of utility and beauty. Aside. Tke American Shingle. from the shingle being perfectly con-structed as to make it fireproof, water-proof, dependable, easily applied, and reasonable in cost, the artistic value hasalso been emphasized. Heretofore the makers claim MetalShingles as a whole — due to the same-ness of design and high ornamentation—lacked individuality and character. In designing the new Americanmetal shingle simplicity of design wasthe predominating key-note. Note part-icularly the high butt end, which makesa very pleasing appearance when placedon a roof. To get away from the sameness of ar-rangement and design, the shingle ismade in six different styles, and by in-terchanging these various styles un-limited number of combinations can bemade, giving to the roof a very naturalshingle appearance. The shingle it is said, has been testedand thoroughly tried out under all condi-tions and has proven very satisfactory.
