Glasgow Cathedral is the best preserved example of a large church to have survived from Scotland s medieval period and has one of the finest post war collections of stained glass windows to be found in Britain Glasgow Cathedral is built on the site where St Kentigern or Mungo the first bishop within the ancient British kingdom of Strathclyde was thought to have been buried in AD 612 The present cathedral was built during the 13th to 15th centuries and is the only medieval cathedral on the Scottish mainland to have survived the 1560 Reformation virtually complete Digitally restored Art 1890 1900 Photochrom or Photochrome is used to create a color print from a black and white photo negative using between four and fourteen lithograph stones made from rocklike substances to colorize the print with several different inks
