Architectural detail of Fisherman's Bastion (Halászbástya). Castle Hill, Buda


The Fisherman's Bstioon was built in the late 19th century to provide good panoramic views to the east across the River Danube and Pest area of the city. Built between 1895 and 1902 in Neo-Romanesque architectural style. It includes 7 turrets to represent the seven Hungarian tribes who founded the present day country in 895 AD. Located on Buda Castle Hill in the Buda Castle area.
