To The Cradle of the Deep. All hands bow their heads in prayer as a comrade-in-arms is buried at sea from a Coast Guard-manned transport heading homeward from the China Burma India theater of war. He died on the Pacific as he was returning to see his loved ones at home. Coast Guardsmen and soldiers pay their final respects as bearers prepare to drop the body over the side from under the stars and stripes for which he paid his life.
