Col. Eric Little, Chief of Staff, Illinois National Guard removes the rank of first lieutenant from Jacob Rhode’s uniform during a promotion ceremony at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois, Dec. 12. Rhodes a Macomb native serves as the plans officer for the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Battalion 106th Cavalry Regiment based in Kewanee, Illinois. Rhode’s wife Mia pinned the rank of captain on him during the ceremony.
