We drove onto Baise and past the Lucrene Lake to Lake Avemus, with allits legends and went into the grotto of the Cumsean Sybil,which is now full of water, and the men carried us across ontheir backs. Part of the original frescoes and mosaics remain and thereare wonderfully large Roman bricks in the walls. We had not.
