These open-vamp strap sandals were verypopular in the earlier days, notwithstanding the fact that itwas something of a nuisance to get all these straps on overthe leather shoe. To obviate this difficulty and still keepthe same effect, a few jears later rubbers were made inimitation of the strap style, the vamp being a solid piecewith raised lines showing the strap pattern.
