Art project, ÒPrimal Source,Ó by Usman Haque from Haque Design + Research created an all-night performance/installation brought to life through the sounds made by festival-goers as part of the GLOW art festival on Sunday, July 19, 2008. Located on the beach north of the Pier, the project made use of a large-scale outdoor waterscreen projection system. Primal Source art appeared like a mirage, glowing with colours and ebullient patterns generated by sound: the competing or collaborative voices, music and screams of people nearby.Ê Specially commissioned by the city of Santa Monica, California, seen by approximately 200,000 festival-goers.
