View of the Gayasisa Stupa, Brahmayoni Hill, dedicated to mark the place where the historical Buddha preached the Fire Sermon, Bihar

Mentioned in the Mahabharata and Buddhist records, Brahmayoni is a sacred hill near Gaya city in Bihar, India. Previously known as Gayasisa, it is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site as Shakyamuni Buddha preached the Fire Sermon (Adittapariyaya Sutta) there to a thousand former fire-worshipping ascetics, who all became enlightened while listening to the discourse.
