Bangkok, Thailand : A couple of tourists stand under the central spire of Wat Arun or Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan (Temple of Dawn) Buddhist temple. Initially built in the 17th century, its distinctive prang (spires) were built in the early and 19th century during the reign of King Rama II. The central prang symbolises Mount Meru of the Hindu cosmology.
