In 1875, aboard the "Proven" sailing yacht, Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld (1832-1901) sailed across the Kara Sea to the mouth of the river Yenisei, from where he returned to Sweden through St. Petersburg, while Kjellmann, one of his companions, arrived at the Norwegian port of Hammerfest aboard the "Proven" .
