The crews of Army Watercraft Logistics Support Vessel 5 (LSV-5), “Maj. Gen. Charles P. Gross,” and Military Sealift Command Vessel Gem State prepare to secure their vessels to one another in the Persian Gulf, on June 13, 2017. The vessels participated in an in-stream cargo transfer exercise, moving containers from one boat to the other using the Gem State’s crane, in order to demonstrate the LSV’s sustainment support capabilities.
