Leg massage. Woman's upper leg is massaged by a masseuse. Massage consists of rubbing and kneading areas of the body which commonly become tense, stiff or painful such as the limbs, neck and back. It is used to relieve muscle spasm, to treat muscle injury or scar tissue, and reduce oedema (fluid retention). Massage increases blood flow, relaxes muscles, and increases the supple- ness of the skin.
