Tables had been placed in the room and excellent cigars, beer and sandwiches were quick- ly distributed. Mr. Keegan also had provided for musical entertainment, a number of professionals making things lively with piano, banjo and vocal se- lections when the conversation lagged, which was seldom. A few left early to cross the bay, but most of the crowd smoked and talked over matters of in- terest until well along toward midnight. Various Notes.
