The King’s Cross Slate Ellipse with words from the final verse of Philip Larkin's 'The Whitsun Weddings'.


Carved by the sculptor Martin Jennings, the slate ellipse displays the final lines of the title poem in Larkin’s best known volume of poetry The Whitsun Weddings. The unveiling in 2014 was carried out by Baroness Virginia Bottomley, High Sheriff of Hull with other dignitaries.
