Lady Jane Grey's signature as queen from 'Lady Jane Grey and Her Times' 1822. The largely forgotten queen Jane (Lady Jane Grey (c. 1536 - 1554) , later known as Lady Jane Dudley (after her marriage to Lord Guildford Dudley) . The former English noble woman is also known as the "Nine Days' Queen" because of her curtailed reign. She reigned as Queen of England and Ireland from 10 July until 19 July 1553. She was politically convicted of high treason and was only 16 or 17 years old at the time of her execution by beheading. She is still viewed by many as a Protestant Martyr.
