Aberystwyth Wales UK, Monday 28 December 2015 Flocks of starlings flying in to roost on Aberystyth pier at the end of a fine, dry December Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. Each evening between October and March tens of thousands of the birds fly in huge ‘murmurations; in the sky above the town before settling to roost for the night on the cast iron legs of the Victorian seaside pier. Aberystwyth is one of only a handful of urban starling roosts in the UK.
