Spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). This is the only bear found in South America, where it is found in the Andean jungles. The spectacled bear is mostly nocturnal and spends much of its life in the trees of the cloud forest. It is mainly vegetarian, but will eat rodents, birds and even larger mammals such as llamas and small cows. This animal is classified as vulnerable, due to habitat loss and hunting.
