W. Dale in hfinor of her father, was dedicatedMarch 28, 1882, is a superb structure, and contains some 5,000 or 6,000volumes of choice literature to which the public has free access. TheMemorial building is the result of a movement on the part of theSoldiers Memorial Association on the one hand and of the citizensfor a town hall on the other. R. M. Reynolds donated the land, thetown paid for the structure proper, and then Messrs. J. L., R. M., andTheodore Reynolds—father and sons—fitted up and furnished it at theirown expense. It was made ready and occupied in 1885. Marcus KeepPost, G. A. R., has spacious and elegant rooms on the second floor, whilethe upper story is set apart as a great public hall.
