Students of the Arctic Aircraft Recovery School sponsored by the 109th Airlift Wing (AW) are instructed in the use of the A/P-25S-5A Daytime Signal Flare. The school is located on the Ice cap of Greenland just three miles from the abandoned DYE II site, it was part of the DEW (Distant Early Warning) Line.
