WhenMr. James speaks of 2:15 speed he does not includeall the pacers in the 2:15 list, but only those with rec-ords of 2:10 or better, holding that 2:15 speed at thetrot is fully as meritorious as 2:10 speed at the James claims that the best evidence of a siresability as a producer, is the proportion of his get thathave extreme speed, and on this basis he says -theregal McKinney is at the top, and gives the followingtable to prove it. Now, for a fact, just fiftv per cent,of the get of this great son of Alcyone that have takenrecords are in the 2:15 list, but Mr. James table omitsall pacers slower than 2:10, and even then McKinneyis ten
