June 2nd 1905 The first UK Royal Mail motor coach on its inaugural trip at Friar's Oak hotel which still stands as a local landmark in the village of Hassocks, West Sussex, England. The Friars Oak Inn is an old coaching stop where horses were changed, is immediately adjacent to Friars Oak Fields, on the western side.
