To Assistant Astronomer Perrine wasassigned the securing of such observations as could be advantageously madewith the Crossley reflector. Mr. H. K. Palmer, who had assisted ProfessorKeeler in the photography of nebulae and star clusters, and who was thereforefamihar with the peculiarities of the original reflector mounting, was askedto assist Dr. Perrine. The observations were secured in great numbers on allfavorable nights throughout the advantageous part of the opposition, as pub-lished in Lick Observatory Bulletin, N
