Huns mountains, Namibia. Aerial photograph of the Huns mountains in south Namibia. These ancient mountains were created 600 million years ago and are composed of limestone and marlstone layers. The remains of prehistoric plants and animals have coloured the rock dark grey and brown. Weathering and erosion by wind and rain cause Âmarlstone to erode more rapidly than limestone, resulting in a terracing effect along the sides of the mountain.
