Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope full sky map. This gamma-ray all-sky map shows high-energy phenomena such as supermassive black holes and pulsars. The line across the centre is our galaxy, the Milky Way. The bright object towards lower left is Blazar Two pulsars (yellow dots) are seen at far centre right. The furthest right is the Crab Pulsar, with the Geminga Pulsar above and to its left. Fermi, formerly known as the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST), was launched on 11th June 2008. It orbits Earth at an altitude of 550 kilometres.
