The 10th century Anglo-Saxon triangular headed doorway in the tower of St Peter's Church, Barton Upon Humber, Lincolnshire

The 10th century Anglo-Saxon triangular headed doorway in the tower of St Peter's Church, Barton Upon Humber, Lincolnshire. The tower shows many classic features of Anglo-Saxon architecture; the rounded and triangular headed doors and windows with massive impost blocks and jambs, triangular headed windows and the vertical, arched and pointed head decorative stone strips. The top stage of the tower is somewhat later, probably built after 1086.
