Peregrine Falcon Falco peregrinus
The Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), also known simply as a Peregrine, is a cosmopolitan bird of prey in the family Falconidae. It is a medium to large-sized falcon. It feeds almost exclusively on medium sized birds, but will very rarely hunt small mammals. It reaches sexual maturity at two or three years and mates for life. It nests in a scrape, normally on cliff edges or, occasionally, tall man-made structures.
