The market last week was fairly good as to supply and demand, though tpe dark weather caused a shortage in somd-lin^s. The wholesalers say they are w^l'satisfied with trade since Lent set in. Prices last week, stiffened a little on fancy stock and the higher pfilies bid fair to continue this week unless stock beconies.^more plentiful. The retailers say Hey have not felt the usual Lenten depression to ahy great extent. • Some roses of extra gobd quality were received last week, es- pecially in the Killarney varieties, which continue to form the bulk of the rose supply in this market. Carna- tions, too, are of excellent quality and the demand is brisk. Light colors lead in demand. Bulbous stock is coming in heavily and is holding up well in ptice. Sweet peas are plentiful and are among the leaders in demand. Violets drag somewhat, as the supply is large. In greens the market is as usual. The retailers report a large demand for plants, such as tulips, Dutch hya- cinths and. cyplamens,. of which there is a large supply. Various Notes.
