All the curves mark the low pressure of the sunnner of 187JS. a vearof liigh and late Hood. In 1879 the pressure was rather higher butagrees with the flood; 18S0 continues in tlie same direction, as alsodoes 1881. In 1S82 there are points of peculiar interest to be noted;at Cairo, and Beirut, the mean pressure increased, and in Eg\pt theKile Hood was feebler than in any year since 1877. these
