This colour-coded topographic view shows the relative heights of the terrain in and around Korolev Crater, an ice-filled crater in the northern lowlands of Mars. Korolev Crater is 82 kilometres across and filled with a thick deposit of ice (white). Lower parts of the surface are blue and purple, while higher-altitude regions are brown and red, as indicated on the scale at top right. This image is based on data from the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express, which is orbiting Mars. Image published in 2018.
