Linnet (Carduelis cannabina) bathing. This small songbird is found in Europe, western Asia and northern Africa, migrating south for the winter. The male has the red head patch seen here. It inhabits scrubland and parkland with thick bushes, feeding mainly on seeds. Photographed in north-eastern Spain.
