Nagle, and J. It is located at 621 Hermannstreet, and is the headquarters of Bat-talion Chief Waters. The engine houseis a perfect model of neatness, comfort. CAPT. ROBERT H. SAWYER and cleanness, and betokens the prideand the interest the members of thecompany take in their quarters and theircompany. Realizing that the enginehouse is their home, and that the wholeof their time is spent there, the companyhas fitted up a sitting room and parlor,elegantly and comfortably furnished, attheir own expense, the walls of whichare adorned with various appropriatepictures, and blue-print drawings of someof Uncle Sams battleships built on thePacific Coast. A piano lends its charmto this room, for some of the membersare musical. Connected with the parlor is a telegraphic instrument fitted to whatis called a social line, and all themembers have learned the scienceof telegraphy. There is an air ofcomfort and a home-like appearanceabout the room that makes the visitorfeel that Engine No. 27 have determinedto make their leisure hours while fire-men as agreeable as possible.
