Colombia, San Agustin, the forest of statues or Bosque de las Estatuas in Parque Arqueologico de San Agustin or the San Agustin Archaeological Park has many monolithic statues, sarcophagi and tobs. These were made to serve as a link between the living and the dead. The statues from vulcanic rock are 20 cm to 7 meters in size, carved with anthropomorphic figures representing a pantheon of gods and creatures to frighten. Also snakes, frogs and birds are used as to the 8th century.
